The wastewater treatment system at the Princess Elisabeth Station in Antarctica didn’t function properly. BOSAQ helped redesign the water treatment and found a solution to create drinking water. The result was a zero-emissions facility that purified 100% of the grey and black water and reused 60-80% of the water for showering, washing, e.t.c. The location is about as cool as it gets, but working conditions are hard and unpredictable. Working on Antarctica is a big challenge for sure, but those are exactly the type of projects we like at BOSAQ.

The water needed to be mineralized and daily bacteriological and quality testing is a normal routine at the Princess Elisabeth Station. In addition, we redesigned the entire water treatment system to implement a circular water economy and optimize water reuse.
